1.0.9

October 7, 2026Latest
  • Recording a shortcut works properly. Pressing a new key combination in Settings no longer sets off one of TackNote's own shortcuts while you record it.
  • Your license works offline for up to 60 days. TackNote checks your license quietly whenever it can reach us. If your PC stays offline for longer than 60 days, your notes stay readable but become read-only until it connects again.
  • Various fixes and improvements.

1.0.8

1.0.7

  • A new formatting bar. It matches the Mac's: minus and plus buttons around a text size you can type in, a highlighter, and a grid of colors for text color and highlight.
  • Various fixes and improvements.

1.0.6

October 2, 2026
  • The User Guide opens the Windows guide. Help in the app now takes you to the guide written for TackNote for Windows.
  • Proper names for more apps. Notes on Phone Link and several other apps show that app's real name on their pill.
  • Tags stay clear of title bar buttons. In apps like Slack, a window's note tag no longer sits on top of the app's own icons in its title bar.
  • Various fixes and improvements.

1.0.5

1.0.4

October 2, 2026
  • Notes stay with the right page and window. A note on a web page now follows the page address, so a page that changes its title keeps its note. Notes also stay put when apps such as VS Code, Teams, Outlook, Discord and Gmail change their window titles, for example to show an unread count.
  • Note tags in Slack. A Slack conversation with a note gets a 1 note tag in the sidebar, and the window shows how many notes it holds. Unread messages no longer hide a note.
  • Stack notes by dragging. Drop one note on another to stack them. Right-click a tab and choose Peel Off as Its Own Note to take it back out.
  • Safety Backups. TackNote copies your notes every time it updates and once a day, keeps the 12 most recent copies, and can restore any of them from Settings. You can also import notes from Evernote.
  • Better writing tools. Bold, italic and underline from the keyboard are kept after a restart, Ctrl+Shift+8 makes a bullet list, and Markdown shows formatted while you are not editing. Sketches get four pens and an eraser that removes only what it touches.
  • More from the tray. Capture Text from Screen (also Ctrl+Alt+O), Send Feedback, Sync Now and Check for Updates. Reminders snooze for 15 minutes, an hour, until tomorrow or until next week, and pictures open in TackNote's own viewer.
  • Various fixes and improvements.

1.0.3

September 30, 2026
  • Every stack of notes is tabbed. A stack of any size shows tabs across the top, so you can tell its notes apart and jump straight to one.
  • TackNote asks before copying text out of a picture. Paste, drop or pick a picture with text in it and TackNote asks whether to copy that text into the note.
  • Pictures and voice memos tell you how to remove them. Hover over one to see how to delete it.
  • Fixed: a minimized note could show its content through the pin, and a very small note could squeeze its text away. A small note now keeps at least a line of text.
  • Various fixes and improvements.

1.0.2

September 28, 2026
  • Notes that live on TackBoard only. Click + Board note on TackBoard for a note that is not stuck to any window, page or folder. When you want it somewhere after all, right-click its card and choose Re-stick.
  • Various fixes and improvements.

1.0.1

September 27, 2026
  • Various fixes and improvements.

1.0.0

September 27, 2026
  • TackNote comes to Windows. Tack a note to a window, a browser tab, a document or a folder, and it shows only when that thing is in front. Press Ctrl+Alt+N to stick a note to the window you are in.
  • TackBoard. Every note in one place, with search, projects and Recently Closed.
  • Desktop notes. A desktop note follows you to every virtual desktop, or stays on one.
  • Everything a note can hold. Checklists, sketches, pictures, voice memos and reminders, plus text captured straight from your screen.
  • Private notes. A private note stays covered until you unlock it with Windows Hello.
  • One license for Mac and Windows. Try it free for 7 days. A license covers up to 3 computers, Mac or Windows.
